Why are some ice fisherman able to catch so many fish while other people can't seem to catch anything? Except maybe a cold...
Like a lot of folks, I always thought there had to be a secret to catching fish!
Growing up in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes, I had plenty of opportunity to ice fish. And, fishing on Red Lake back in the 70s made you feel like a real Pro. The Walleyes would nearly jump right in your boat or through your ice fishing hole.
But as I got older and really started to love the sport, especially ice fishing, it seemed all I would catch were Northern Pike and Bullheads! Donít get me wrong, catching anything is better than getting skunked!
But I love eating fish almost as much as catching them and, although I developed a real taste for Northerns, Iíve always preferred to eat Walleye, Crappie and Perch. So I obviously had a problem.
Thatís when I made up my mind to watch and listen to the people who really knew how to catch fish. Iím very thankful that some of the best ice fishermen in the world (like Al Linder, Doug Stange, Dave Gentz and Noel Vick) are also some of nicest people in the world. They enjoy catching fish and teaching other people to catch fish too.
Being a computer geek by trade and an avid ice fisherman the rest of the time, I decided to combine my two passions in this website. Hopefully, it will help you catch more fish!
Before you start really digging in and exploring this site Iíd better answer the question at the top of this page.
